Fun with Writing

An introductory writing course for the upper grammar student taught by Mrs. Melissa Sweeney, MA, this course is appropriate for students grades 3 and 4 and 5th and 6th graders with little to no formal writing instruction. 
 
Throughout this course, we will switch between creative and academic writing, focusing on structure and style. Mrs. Sweeney will introduce the new structure and style and assign homework to be done the rest of the student's school week. Students will receive oral feedback from the instructor on each writing assignment and be encouraged to fill out their own checklists.

This full year, 30-week course, will meet for 45 minutes per week. 
 
Our virtual classroom is hosted by Canvas. The name and email you provide at checkout will be used to create your student’s Canvas profile. You will access the live class each week either by the email invitation or by logging in and clicking on “Conferences” then selecting the new conference, which should be available by about 5 minutes before class time. Classes will be recorded and the recording can be accessed in “Conferences” in the afternoon on class day and will be available for one week.
 
Payment: The price of this course includes a credit card processing fee. Use manual payment after checkout to set up a payment plan and avoid extra fees. An $80 non-refundable deposit holds your student's spot. You can pay the remaining balance with monthly payments or in full before the class begins.
 
Discounts: Our missionary and private school family discount price is $450 for this course and payment plans are available. Families with multiple students will receive a 50% discount on tuition for subsequent registered siblings. Also, a referral credit of $40 will be awarded to any family who refers another registered student/family.
